There is a lack of tree planting initiative in Brickfields, with sidewalks upgraded but without shady trees. Taman Desa has a community program whereby residents sponsor trees to be planted. Brickfields can emulate this best practice! But who should lead this? Where is our MP (Bukit Bintang) ?

Yes, I agree with you that trees planted in the sidewalk will enhance the environmental beauty of Brickfields, what with the influx of tourists walking around. I would also suggest that the pavement must be of the rough surface type where the feet can grip firmly in the event of rainy weather. I observe many elderly persons slipping when the pavement is wet. All the more Brickfields should be paved with rough tiles since the Malaysian Association of the Blind is located here and there are many members who use the pavements all around the district.

To bring improvements to the community by planting trees and in many other ways, like approaching DBKL or Alam Flora for example, forming a Residents Association of Brickfields would be a good starting point.

Anybody wants to take the initiative?
